Hello,
Welcome to the Weekly Cartridge Blog Series. This is going to be a short format weekly blog post where we go over the basics of a different cartridge to give you a little knowledge and some talking points for your next social gathering.
Each post will start out with a little background on the cartridge and detail where it was designed and who it was designed for. I will try to include some interesting facts along the way.
At the bottom of the post will be a “Short Notes” portion that gives you the basic run down on each cartridge. Things like barrel twist rates, projectile weights, Maximum Point-Blank Range and the likes. It may change depending on the cartridge and its use but just some information to keep you full of wonderful tidbits.
Now not every blog will be perfect and I do try my best to research as best as possible when writing about these things so if you see a mistake, please let me know.
I like to collect different cartridges for my own personal passion projects with photos of cartridge head-stamps and thought this could be a cool way to share some of those photos and information I have learned along the way. My collection currently consists of 156 different cartridges with the hopes that it just continues to grow thanks to the wonderful people here in Canada.
Hopefully this gives you some insight on what the weekly blogs will be and brings you back weekly to learn new information. I will be starting with some more common cartridges and working towards more unique ones as the year goes on.
I hope you all had a good holiday season and are ready for the new year and please remember to always practice safe muzzle control when dealing with firearms and happy shooting.
B
